Chaos

A rare natural monument, the Chaos doline, is just a 10-minute drive from Sounion.

A massive sinkhole formed by the collapse of a large cave roof, similar to the one in the Didyma region of Argolis.

It is used for training by cavers, who are fascinated by its 70-meter vertical descent.

As you drive on the main road from Sounion towards Lavrio, turn left at the signpost for Agios Konstantinos. After approximately three kilometers, you will see a church on your right. About one kilometer further down, on your right, you will find a clearing where the local firefighters often park. Turn right into this clearing, and at the end, you will find the Chaos.
